Industria to provide Digital Living Services to 750 homes in new residential development

Partnership with Manley Construction offer residents enhanced services on the cutting edge of technological development

16 Jun 2008 —

Industria, the full-service broadband solutions provider, is working with leading Irish building contractor Manley Construction to bring Digital Living services to residents of a new property development comprised of 750 residential units in Drogheda, Co Louth. The development consists of apartments, townhouses and both detached and semi detached homes. In order to enhance the value of the development, Manley chose to offer cutting edge Digital Living services provided by Quartus.

The project is expected to take approximately 18 months to 2 years to complete. Currently work has begun on the first stage. An attractive, user-friendly package will be installed in each unit comprised of the following:

Industria GSM heating control unit. This unit is fitted with a sim card and allows the home owners to text/ring the device to switch their home heating on and off. With oil/gas prices constantly rising, the developers felt it was important to add an element of energy efficiency over and above what is normal in most new build homes today.

Russound multi room audio system. All homes are fitted as standard with a minimum of four zones of audio (four bed homes will have six zones). Each of the zones has a pair of discrete in-ceiling speakers and a keypad that allows selection of source and volume control. An FM radio tuner also fitted as part of the standard equipment. The customers can add additional equipment to the system to allow different sources to be heard in different rooms. e.g. iPod in the bathroom, cd in the kitchen and radio in bedroom. The benefit of this system is that it reduces the number of wires cluttering the home, with all audio equipment being discretely located in one central area (utility room). Further, it allows different people to listen to different sources at the same time.

Industria Project Manager Justin Reilly is enthusiastic about the project and commented "We at Quartus are proud to be associated with Manley Construction, one the most reliable property developers in Ireland, with an excellent reputation for quality and high standards. Both Industria and Manley are committed to on time and on budget project completion, which makes for a great partnership. In the end, residents of the new development will be the real winners, with access to cutting edge technology designed to make their lives easier."
